This National Park is located near Dimapur (at a distance of 35 kilometers) and one of the best national parks in Nagaland. The second name of this park is also Intanki. Actually the name Ntangki is the product of Zeme tongue of a particular tribe reside there named Zeliangrong.
As a good national park of the state Nagaland as well as of the country too, this part is located in extreme Northern east region of the country. A very dense chain of rain forests creates natural habitat for various species like birds, reptiles, mammals and insects. In this park one can see the elephants, Wild Buffaloes (“Mithun” – one of the Indian Zodiac sign named after this animal), Hoolok gibbon (no other such specie in the world), tigers, sloth bear, wild dogs’ flying squirrels and so on in the vast area of approximate 200 Sqkm.
The typical geographical location of this park allows the erection of equatorial jungle and the meadow which spread in the major portion of this national park. In some places of this park, some tropical trees are also grown up. Series of mountains, various cliffs and the entire valley of the park area provides a scenic look which is very significant for camping and adventure activities.
Trekking is also done here under various guides and agencies during the season.

This national park is an ideal place for this activity. Various visitors come to this park to see only typical birds every year. A wide range of bird species like Pheasants, Hornbills and Black Storks etc are residing here.
Wildlife In Ntangki National Park
A very wide range of various types of species is inhabited in this national park. Rarely found Hoolock gibbon, Golden Lungur, Hornbills, Pheasants, Python, Monitor Lizard, Tigers, Sloth Bears etc are the property of this park. Viewing these species in their natural habitat is the most exciting experience.
Gorgeous valleys, cliffs and mountains of the forest offer excellent opportunity for mountain hiking, trekking expeditions and camping.
The ideal time to visit the National Park is November to February.

Dimapur airport is the nearest air port which is located at a short distance of 35 kilometres from this park. Cabs/taxies are available from this airport to the national park.
Railway station Dimapur is also the nearest rail head. This place also situated at 35 Kilometres from this park. Frequent taxies are also available here to vist the park.
National Highway No. 39 is one and only the highway which connects a person to this park. From other cities, bus services and taxies are also plying to reach this park. This NH is directly linked with Guwahati in Assam state.
